Disability Placement Scheme
Disability Placement Scheme
The BSO has teamed up with the Health and Social Care (HSC) Board to offer work placements specifically for people with a disability.
The aim of the scheme is to provide meaningful work experience for people with a disability as a step to employment, and to promote positive attitudes towards people with a disability through people working well together.
Placements are unpaid and last for 26 weeks. They are designed as a step to employment for people with a disability who have been out of employment for some time.
Persons on placement have a range of disabilities, skills and experiences. Thus, there is no typical placement as to the tasks, skills and experience involved – they are really diverse!
