The Finance Directorate has three core responsibilities.

 Firstly, it acts as a support function to the Organisation in that it is responsible for ensuring that the BSO operates within budget – this includes all aspects of financial management such as planning, budgeting and the provision of accurate, reliable and timely information to budgetholders.

Secondly, it makes sure that the Organisation delivers on its financial reporting obligations – this includes the preparation of year end statutory accounts and the submission of regular financial returns to DHSSPS.  We are responsible for ensuring that good financial governance lies at the heart of everything we do.

Finally, we provide a range of financial services not only on behalf of BSO but also a number of customer organisations from across the HSC spectrum.  These range from payment of supplier invoices and travel claims to banking and the provision of year end statutory accounts.  We are very focused on delivering a high quality service and work closely with our customers to ensure we meet their expectations.
